Human, Togruta & Astromech Smuggler Team

After seeing several people use the Crystal Skull Film Indiana Jones head on some of their pieces I decided to pick one up on the cheap and use him to create this unique smuggler (or an aged Han Solo). I took the the body, arms and thighs of the Pirate Bike Cad Bane, the head of the Dr. Jones figure, the lower legs from the Clone Wars Eeth Koth, hands from Resurgence of the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and a vest from a Legacy Han Solo. With a bit of repainting this aging starship pilot was completed.

His young Togruta co-pilot was created using the leftover body of the Clone Wars Asajj Ventress I had and the head of the Clone Wars Spacesuit Ahsoka Tano. Repainted her head and upper body and she was ready to go. When I repainted her head I decided to give her eyes the same look that the movie version of Shaak Ti had…all black, I think this gives her a more serious look. Also provided her a breather mask from the Legacy Han Solo I pinched the vest from for my human smuggler.

The R2 Astromech droid is a repaint of the Clone Wars R2-D2 in blues, blacks and some metallics.

This Sith Lord was created from the TLC Comic Pack Ganner Krieg and CW Pirate Bike Cad Bane figures. Full repaint in five different shades of black, with a complete repaint of the head as well, now he is ready to strike fear in the hearts of those who live on the Light Side of the Force.

Shistavanen Jedi Padawan

Posted in 30th Anniversary Collection, Custom Figures, Legacy Collection, The Clone Wars on May 19, 2011 by botwt

I created this Shistavanen Jedi Padawan using the Resurgence of the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and some resin and plastic 30mm scale fantasy parts from Games Workshop and Micro Arts Studio. The lightsaber was created by cutting the middle of the green saber hilt out and using the rugged looking axe handle that was in the hand as a leather grip…attached both ends of the lightsaber to the ends of the axe handle and ta-dah, a very barbaric looking lightsaber befitting a Shistavanen. I decided not to bother with trying to find appropriate looking feet for this fellow as the added detail would be completely lost due to the length of the robes. The tribal necklace was created using a part from the Clone Wars figure Thi-Sen. For the final detail to this figure I decided to add a ponytail of sorts to the back of his head (some leftover bit that came from the Stalker Armored Marek), and in doing this I figured that I should call him a Padawan at this point.

Kyuzo Jedi Knight

I was truly inspired by Tokiravensky over on yakfaceforums.com, he made this amazing Jedi Embo conversion that I knew I just had to try to emulate. So I picked up a second Embo and swapped his head and hands onto a Jedi Evolutions Qui-Gon Jinn figure and gave him the Galen Marek scarf like Tokiravensky’s version has. For his lightsaber I melded two Kenobi lightsabers together like a double sided Darth Maul style weapon to give this Samurai like Jedi a different and dangerous look. Thank you Tokiravensky for your inspiration…you are a true visionary mate!

“Rogue” The Grey Jedi

Posted in 30th Anniversary Collection, Custom Figures, Legacy Collection, Shadows of the Dark Side, The Clone Wars on March 10, 2011 by botwt

My original idea for my Grey Jedi was to have him begin life with the Owen Lars model, then I figured I would use a Saga Legends Obi-Wan Kenobi body…so I went for a Photoshop concept of how I wanted these pieces to fit together. I thought about making him completely blind due to some accident, but then opted to scar his right eye and the skin around it with a burn and then provide a cool tattoo around his left eye…used Mike Tyson’s tribal facial tattoo as inspiration. This is the concept piece I came up with below.

Ditched this idea. So back to the drawing board and decided to go with the Legacy Collection BD06 Obi-Wan Kenobi figure as his base, ¬†Shadows of the Dark Side – Comic Pack¬†Owen Lars’ robe, Zartan #1010 for his head, CW45 Anakin Skywalker’s ungloved robotic arm, two lightsabers (the dual bladed one is getting used on another custom) and the scarf from the Legacy Collection BD01 Han Solo.

I had to repaint Zartan’s head…looks like he was left in direct sunlight and it left his head two-tone. I also repainted the eye tattoos. His right arm I cut just below the swivel elbow and used green stuff to bind the robotic forearm and the original arm together so it looked like the shirt was bunched up at that point.

So here is my blinded, not so good, not so evil Jedi.
